A Cath Lab Nurse is responsible for assisting cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the catheterization laboratory. The role involves patient preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, post-procedure care, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities: Pre-Procedure Care:

- Prepare patients for cardiac procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, etc.
- Verify patient identity, consent forms, and medical history.
- Ensure all necessary investigations and documentation are complete.
- Prepare and sterilize Cath Lab equipment and instruments.

During Procedure:

- Assist cardiologists during procedures in the Cath Lab.
- Monitor patient vitals (ECG, BP, oxygen saturation) continuously.
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Handle emergency situations such as cardiac arrest promptly.

Post-Procedure Care:

- Monitor patients for complications (bleeding, arrhythmias, etc.).
- Provide post-procedure instructions and care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient status.

Equipment & Safety:





- Operate and maintain Cath Lab equipment.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain inventory of consumables and medications.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Education: B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid Nursing Registration
- Experience: 1–3 years in Cath Lab / ICU / Cardiac Care (preferred)
- Certification in BLS / ACLS (preferred)
- Solid knowledge of cardiac procedures and emergency care
