Role description

Role Purpose

Lead cross-functional cost-reduction programs, sourcing and procurement transformations, and digital procurement initiatives for global organizations. This role focuses on optimizing labor and non-labor spend, improving supplier performance, leveraging procurement technologies, and enabling sustainable value through data‑driven insights and strategic advisory support.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Optimization and Strategic Sourcing

Apply financial analysis, cost modeling and value engineering to identify margin and cost saving opportunities without impacting quality or revenue growth.

Partner with client functional leads to design identify organizational inefficiencies and design new operating model streamlining process and service delivery cost.

Develop and deploy category strategies, cost takeout plans, and sourcing optimization initiatives.

Conduct RFXs, supplier negotiations, scenario analyses, and benchmarking to reduce TCO.

Procurement Transformation & Digital Enablement

Lead procurement transformation using common platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, and other digital tools.

Perform as‑is spend assessments, maturity assessments, process redesign, and technology evaluations.

Identify RPA/AI/ML opportunities (e.g., touchless POs, automated AP, contract analytics) to reduce manual effort and uplift productivity across procurement and adjacent back‑office functions.

Analytics & Performance Management

Use analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) for opportunity assessment, creation of benefits dashboards, KPI tracking and reporting, and savings validation.

Stand up enterprise governance (charter, cadence, RAID, change management, benefits validation); proving visibility and ensure traceability from initiatives

Stakeholder, Supplier & Change Management

Serve as trusted advisor to firm and client leadership, including senior stakeholders.

Manage supplier relationships, contracting processes, supplier evaluations, and governance.

Drive change management to ensure adoption of cost reduction and digital platform initiatives.

Business Development & Thought Leadership

Support proposal development, pricing models, and solutioning efforts.

Create frameworks, accelerators, methodologies, and thought leadership content.

Skills and Expertise





Functional & Domain Expertise

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Deep understanding of end‑to‑end Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) processes, including category strategy, RFx development, negotiation strategies, supplier performance management, and contract lifecycle management.

Familiarity with key direct and indirect categories, as well as procurement policy governance and compliance frameworks.

Labor & workforce optimization (role rationalization, location strategy, managed services/shared services/GCC models)

Experience creating enterprise‑wide cost transformation roadmaps, linking sourcing, labor, SG&A;, digital, and operating model levers into a unified program.

Technology & Digital Enablement Skills

Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following (preferably several): SAP Ariba, SAP S/4HANA Procurement, Coupa, Oracle Procurement Cloud

Working knowledge of RPA, AI/ML, workflow automation, and digital tools enabling productivity (e.g., touchless POs, automated AP, contract analytics).

Data, Analytics & Performance Management

Robust analytical toolkit using Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar tools for spend analysis, savings tracking, productivity modeling, and benefit realization dashboards.

Ability to build and maintain enterprise cost dashboards, integrating labor productivity, automation benefits, third‑party savings, and SG&A; efficiencies into CFO‑ready reporting packs.

Comfort with interpreting complex datasets, developing insights, and recommending data-driven actions for cost optimization.

Consulting, Leadership & Client‑Facing Skills

Structured problem-solving, hypothesis‑driven thinking, and comfort working in ambiguous environments.

Ability to lead workstreams, manage junior analysts, and deliver high‑quality client outputs while meeting deadlines.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience developing business cases, transformation roadmaps, governance materials, and executive deliverables.





Program & Change Management Skills

Experience working within or leading a Cost‑Reduction PMO, managing governance routines, benefit validation, risk/change management, and cross‑functional coordination.

Ability to design and manage organizational change (process, digital adoption, operating model shifts) to ensure sustainable value capture.

Behavioral & Personal Attributes

High learning agility, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced consulting environments.

Strong collaboration mindset, with the ability to work across functions such as Procurement, HR, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Curiosity and drive for continuous improvement.
