About the Role

We are looking for a Consultant MD Biochemist / PhD Biochemist to provide scientific and technical leadership for our clinical biochemistry laboratory. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of diagnostic reporting, strengthening quality systems, supporting method development, and working closely with laboratory operations to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in clinical biochemistry, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Leadership

- Provide scientific oversight for clinical biochemistry testing and reporting.
- Ensure smooth laboratory operations by supporting quality, workflow, and technical decision-making.




- Review and authorize reports while maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy.

Method Development & Validation

- Participate in the development, validation, and implementation of new biochemical assays and testing methodologies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance laboratory capabilities.
- Ensure validation activities comply with regulatory and quality requirements.

Quality Management

- Drive quality assurance initiatives, including IQC, EQAS, and proficiency testing.
- Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support NABL accreditation activities, audits, and continuous quality improvement programs.

Research & Clinical Collaboration

- Work closely with clinicians, pathologists, and research teams to strengthen diagnostic services.
- Contribute to clinical evaluations, biomarker studies, and implementation of new diagnostic technologies.
- Stay updated with advances in laboratory medicine and biochemistry.

Training & Mentorship

- Mentor laboratory personnel on technical best practices and quality standards.
- Conduct training sessions to improve competency and promote continuous learning within the team.
- Support knowledge sharing across departments.





Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure adherence to NABL requirements, laboratory SOPs, biosafety practices, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Assist during internal and external audits and maintain appropriate laboratory documentation.

Requirements

- MD in Biochemistry from a recognized institution. A valid medical registration is required for MD candidates.
- 1–3 years of experience in clinical or diagnostic biochemistry laboratories.
- Strong understanding of biochemical testing methodologies, quality assurance, and laboratory best practices.
- Experience with method validation, quality control, and interpretation of biochemical investigations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, laboratory teams, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced workplace.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
