About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with a passion for industrial data and analytics. This role focuses on developing robust data pipelines and analytics solutions for time-series data generated from heating, refrigeration, and process equipment. You will play a key role in transforming raw industrial data into actionable insights, supporting digital product development and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities and tasks
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch & streaming) with a focus on time-series data from heating, refrigeration, and process equipment
- Develop and operationalize advanced analytics workflows by integrating data from multiple industrial and enterprise sources
- Work closely with Data Analysts and Digital Product teams to enable data-driven product features and insights
- Contribute to and enhance the GEA Cloud Analytics Platform in collaboration with the Digital Hub
- Ensure high data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines and platforms
- Apply modern software engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, code reviews)
- Actively participate in the Data Engineering / Data Science Guild to drive knowledge sharing and standardization
- Build reusable, modular, and efficient data solutions using state-of-the-art tools
Your profile and qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles
- Strong experience in building robust and scalable data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Spark / Databricks or similar big data frameworks
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience handling time-series data, industrial IoT, or real-time analytics (highly preferred)
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data architecture
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English
