Molex is looking for a DFMEA Expert to drive design risk assessment and mitigation activities across complex product development programs. In this role, you will facilitate cross-functional DFMEA processes, ensure robust risk management throughout the product lifecycle, and provide system-level visibility of design risks. You will work closely with engineering teams, program stakeholders, and customers to ensure DFMEA activities support product quality, reliability, and successful product launches.

You will be part of the Product Development and Engineering organization, partnering with system, mechanical, hardware, software, quality, and validation teams across global locations. Our team is focused on delivering innovative products while proactively managing design risks through structured engineering processes and collaborative problem-solving.
What You Will Do

- Lead and facilitate cross-functional DFMEA activities to identify, evaluate, and mitigate design risks across system, subsystem, and component levels.
- Drive alignment between customer requirements, product functions, and risk assessments to ensure customer expectations are effectively addressed.
- Establish and maintain traceability of design risks across multiple engineering domains, enabling accurate system-level risk visibility.
- Support engineering teams in integrating DFMEA outputs into product development, validation, and verification strategies.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure consistent application of DFMEA methodologies and risk assessment best practices.
- Serve as the primary owner of DFMEA documentation, ensuring data integrity, completeness, and audit readiness within the designated FMEA tool.




- Provide meaningful risk insights, metrics, and recommendations to engineering leadership, supporting informed business and design decisions.
- Collaborate with global teams to drive timely risk mitigation actions and improve overall product robustness and reliability.
- Represent system-level DFMEA status in customer discussions, effectively communicating risk management approaches, mitigation strategies, and program health.
- Promote a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in facilitating and moderating DFMEA activities within a product development environment in the Automotive domain.
- Strong knowledge of DFMEA methodologies, preferably AIAG-VDA standards.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, including mechanical, hardware, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of product development processes, design verification, validation activities, and risk management practices.
- Experience using DFMEA software tools such as Plato or equivalent FMEA management platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.





What Will Put You Ahead

- Experience developing and maintaining system-level DFMEAs for complex electromechanical products.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, product decomposition, and requirement traceability.
- Experience supporting DVPR development, validation planning, and verification activities.
- Understanding of Special Characteristics (SC) and Critical Characteristics (CC) management within DFMEA and PFMEA workflows.
- Experience engaging directly with customers to present risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information from multiple engineering domains.
- Experience working within a global engineering organization and leading risk management initiatives across geographically distributed teams.
