osition: NICU Staff Nurse
Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / NICU In-charge

Job Summary

The NICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to newborn infants requiring intensive medical attention. The nurse works closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for neonates and support for their families.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns.
- Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products as prescribed.
- Assist in neonatal resuscitation and emergency procedures.
- Operate and monitor NICU equipment, including ventilators, CPAP, incubators, infusion pumps, phototherapy units, and monitors.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols at all times.
- Assist with feeding,



nutrition, and developmental care of neonates.
- Educate and counsel parents regarding the baby's condition, treatment, breastfeeding, and home care.
- Assist physicians during procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Report any change in the baby's condition immediately to the treating physician.
- Ensure proper handover of patients during shift changes.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the NICU workplace and equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, continuing education, and hospital training programs.
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and ethical nursing practices.

Qualifications

- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council registration.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
