Job Description: Driver (School)

Position: DriverDepartment: AdministrationReports To: Transport In-charge / Admin Manager / PrincipalJob Summary:

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students, staff, and school materials. The role includes maintaining the assigned vehicle in good condition, following all traffic regulations, and ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate the assigned school vehicle as per the scheduled routes and timings.
- Ensure the safety of students, staff, and passengers during transportation.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fuel, engine oil, brakes, tyres, lights, battery, etc.) before commencing duty.
- Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy at all times.
- Report any vehicle defects, breakdowns, or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school transport policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
- Assist in loading and unloading school materials when required.
- Ensure all necessary vehicle documents (registration, insurance, PUC, permit, etc.) are valid and available.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and follow school emergency procedures.
- Maintain discipline and appropriate behavior while transporting students.
- Perform other duties assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:





- Minimum qualification: 10th Pass (Higher qualification preferred).
- Valid Heavy/Light Motor Vehicle Driving License (as applicable).
- Minimum 3–5 years of driving experience, preferably in a school or institutional environment.
- Good knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Working Conditions:

- Working hours as per school schedule and transport requirements.
- May be required to work during school events, field trips, examinations, or emergencies.
- Must maintain a neat appearance and wear the prescribed uniform (if applicable).

- Safe driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Timely arrival and departure as per transport schedule.
- Proper maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
- Compliance with all transport safety and school policies.
- Positive feedback from students, parents, and school management.

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
