Senior PowerBuilder Developer (Direct Client-Facing)

## Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PowerBuilder Developer to join our team in a direct client-facing capacity. This role requires an engineer who is not only a technical expert in legacy application modernization and maintenance but also a strong communicator capable of gathering requirements, explaining technical trade-offs, and interacting directly with client stakeholders.

The successful candidate will take ownership of maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing robust, enterprise-level application ecosystems built on PowerBuilder and Sybase.

## Key Responsibilities

- Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain client-server applications using PowerBuilder (versions 12.x / 2017 / 2019+ preferred).
- Object-Oriented Design: Create, modify, and optimize reusable User Objects and complex DataWindow Objects (including freeform, grid, and tabular styles) to support business workflows.
- Logic & Event Handling: Write clean, efficient PowerScript and implement robust logic using Event-Driven Execution models.
- Database Management: Write, tune, and debug complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers on a Sybase database backend.
- Client Engagement:



Act as a primary technical point of contact during the shift, translating business requirements into technical execution and presenting updates clearly to the client.
- Modernization Support: Analyze legacy code structures to assist in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and mapping out future migration pathways.

## Technical & Professional Requirements### Core Technical Skills

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in core PowerBuilder development.
- Deep proficiency in writing PowerScript and implementing Event-Driven Execution.
- Advanced expertise in configuring and tuning DataWindow Objects and building custom User Objects.
- Robust backend experience with Sybase (ASE/IQ), including database design, indexing, and writing complex stored procedures.

### Soft Skills & Shift Requirements

- Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written English is mandatory, as this role involves driving direct calls and syncs with the client.
- Shift Flexibility: Must be fully comfortable and productive working the 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST shift window to ensure optimal overlap with the client's time zone.
- Independence: Proven ability to troubleshoot legacy systems, reverse-engineer undocumented code, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.

Pay: ₹332,027.25 - ₹2,600,000.00 per year
