Job Purpose

The Primary Teacher (PRT) – English & Social Studies is responsible for delivering age-appropriate, engaging, and effective instruction in English and SST to students of Grades 3 to 5, fostering robust foundational skills, critical thinking, and positive learning habits in alignment with the school’s academic standards and values.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning

- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons in English and Social Studies for Grades 3 to 5 as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English.
- Teach core SST concepts including history, geography, civics, and environmental awareness in an interactive manner.
- Use creative teaching methodologies, activities, and teaching aids to enhance learning outcomes.
- Ensure inclusive classroom practices catering to diverse learning needs.

Assessment & Evaluation

- Design and conduct regular assessments, worksheets, projects, and class activities.
- Evaluate students’ academic progress and maintain accurate academic records.




- Provide constructive feedback to students to support continuous improvement.
- Prepare report cards and participate in parent-teacher meetings.

Classroom Management

- Maintain a disciplined, safe, and positive classroom workplace.
- Encourage good behavior, values, and social skills among students.
- Ensure student engagement and participation during lessons.

Academic & Administrative Duties

- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, and academic documentation as required.
- Participate in curriculum planning, academic reviews, and staff meetings.
- Support school events, assemblies, competitions, and co-curricular activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary learning and best practices.

Communication & Parent Interaction

- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
- Address academic or behavioral issues professionally and empathetically.
