Job Overview: The ostomy care nurse will be responsible for providing expert care and education, the patients who have undergone ostomy surgery. This role involves assisting patients in managing their stoma and ostomy pouch. We train our healthcare team and educate patients and their families to ensure optimal colostomy care and overall quality of life.

Responsibilities:

● Collaborate with hospitals, clinics, home healthcare agencies, and specialized wound care centres to provide effective ostomy care support.

● Identify potential retailers, sub dealers and ensure stocks to be available.

● Identify, generate, and follow up on new patient leads received post-surgery from healthcare institutions.

● Achieve sales targets along with the number of leads to be generated.

● Educate patients and caregivers on ostomy management, stoma care, and the appropriate use of available pouching systems.

● Train patients on proper hygiene practices, pouch replacement procedures,



and skin care management around the stoma.

● Assess individual body profiles to ensure correct fitting and optimal performance of ostomy pouching systems, minimizing leakage and discomfort.

● Monitor stoma health and support proper healing of the wound site through continuous care and follow-up.

● Provide dietary and lifestyle guidance to help patients maintain healthy bowel function and avoid digestive complications.

● Counsel patients on how food habits may impact stoma output and coordinate with surgeons whenever medical intervention is required.

● Work in close coordination with surgeons, physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

● Maintain accurate patient documentation, obtain consent forms prior to procedures, and submit required reports and updates to the reporting manager and company.

Qualifications:

● BSC nursing and GNM nursing/ Any degree

● Additional certification in wound care, ostomy care, or related specialty (WOCN certification is common)

● Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

● Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing significant lifestyle changes

● Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team

● Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of care
