Job Summary

Steel Shoppe India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a proactive and skilled Engineer – Mechanical Maintenance to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of steel processing equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and IATF requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of steel processing machinery and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, decoilers, recoilers, leveling machines, shearing machines, hydraulic systems, EOT cranes, compressors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and other plant equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and execute timely corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Carry out routine inspections, lubrication, alignment, and condition monitoring of rotating equipment.
- Plan and execute maintenance activities during planned shutdowns.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and preventive maintenance schedules.




- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Electrical Maintenance teams for smooth plant operations.
- Participate in TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits, including IATF audits, and ensure compliance with maintenance documentation and audit requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and company policies.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience with steel processing machinery and rotating equipment.
- Sound knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication systems, alignment, and power transmission.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of IATF, TPM, 5S, and maintenance audit requirements.
- Familiarity with CMMS/SAP PM is an added advantage.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
