Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer with strong expertise in Jira and Planview integrations, API development, automation, data migration, and enterprise system integrations . The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in developing scalable Python solutions, extracting and transforming large datasets, automating business processes, and designing robust integration frameworks.

This role requires a strong technical professional who can work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and supporting DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Python Development & Automation

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Python applications and automation solutions.
Develop reusable frameworks, utilities, and scripts for automation and system integrations.
Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to integrations, data processing, and scheduled jobs.

Jira Integration & Migration

Develop and maintain integrations using Jira REST APIs.
Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and migration activities across Jira projects and instances.
Design automated solutions for Jira data synchronization and migration.
Create scripts and utilities for bulk data processing and migration activities.
Work with Jira workflows, issue metadata, custom fields, and related configurations.

API Development & Data Processing

Develop and consume RESTful APIs using Python.
Perform API testing, troubleshooting, and validation using Postman.




Extract data from multiple sources and transform it into standardized formats.
Store processed data in databases, flat files, or enterprise repositories.
Design error handling, logging, monitoring, and audit capabilities for integrations.

Scheduling & Batch Processing

Develop and support batch jobs and automation workflows using Autosys or equivalent scheduling tools.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize scheduled processes.
Implement automation for recurring operational and business processes.

DevOps & Release Management

Manage source code using GitLab.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
Support deployment automation and release management activities.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.

Enterprise Integrations

Develop integrations using:
REST APIs
SFTP
SMTP
Database connectors
File-based interfaces
Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable data exchange between systems.

Technical Documentation

Create and maintain:
Low-Level Design (LLD) documents
Technical Specifications
Integration Design Documents
Support Runbooks
Confluence Documentation
Document architecture decisions, interfaces, workflows, and implementation details.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
Skill Requirements

Required Skills

Core Technical Skills

10+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
Strong experience in Python libraries and frameworks.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.




Experience in developing scalable and maintainable enterprise solutions.

Jira & Data Migration

Solid experience with Jira REST APIs.
Experience in Jira data extraction, transformation, migration, and automation.
Knowledge of Jira data models, issue structures, workflows, and custom fields.
Experience delivering migration and integration projects involving Jira.

API & Integration Development

Extensive experience in REST API development and integration.
Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and validation.
Experience building enterprise integrations and automation solutions.
Strong understanding of JSON, XML, and data transformation techniques.

Data Management

Experience extracting large datasets from various sources.
Experience transforming and loading data into databases and files.
Strong SQL and database interaction skills.
Knowledge of data quality validation and reconciliation processes.

Scheduling & Automation

Hands-on experience with Autosys or similar enterprise scheduling tools.
Experience managing and troubleshooting automated batch processes.
Ability to design dependable scheduling and monitoring solutions.

DevOps & Tools

Robust experience with GitLab and source code management.
Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of deployment automation and release processes.
Experience working with SFTP and SMTP integrations.

Documentation & Design

Experience creating detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
Strong Confluence documentation skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
