Purpose

The Head - Materials oversees the enitre Raw material Procurement "operations" for all the plants of UPL India and Sources B and C class items.

Job Responsibilities

This position will oversee RM Proc operations of close to Rs3000 Cr. (of which about Rs.2000 Cr is imported). Will deal with about 300-400 suppliers. This role also negotiates and contracts for B and C class items including some key ones like Coal, Sulphur, P2S5, Deta, Phosgene gas, Caustic Chlorine etc.

PROCURMENT OPERATIONS FOR LOCAL RMs

Materials planning, scheduling, Purchase Orders, Followup to ensure timely supply, resolving quality issues, payments to suppliers, other commercial matters - forms, Bill of entries, audits, licenses …

IMPORTS MGT

Imports of base chemicals,



intermediates and technical’s and formulations for production at all our plants as well as to support traded sales

PROCUREMENT PROJECTS

Cost savings, Alternate suppliers, Specification change, current product , vendor quality audits, IT system implementation, process improvement.

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT

Visits to suppliers to ensure alignment, compliance and to build relationships

Minimum Requirements

Education: Grad in Chemistry (preferable) , MBA in Supply chain mgt
