About the Organization

Swaniti Initiative is a social enterprise that is working at the intersection of climate, governance and last mile delivery. We believe that while the willingness and resources exist, there are fundamental gaps in the execution within communities that is the biggest crisis in the climate movement. Accordingly, Swaniti works with subnational governments to conduct microplanning exercises with consultations with community and key stakeholders to understand the pathways forward, provide technical assistance to subnational governments to provide support in program implementation and support in monitoring and delivery of programs.

Swaniti has been working across multiple geographies in the global south to unlock capital. Our three core metrics include unlocking public capital, ensuring last mile communities are directly benefitted and creating systemic changes in the public service systems. While we are continuing to focus on impact, it is critical to have a lead who has a deep understanding about monitoring, evaluation and learning. Our intention is to create an institutional capabilities to measure and document the scale of our impact and look at how learning can be replicated across the institution.

About the Role

Swaniti Initiative is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Associate – People's Team to strengthen our Human Resources function. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience across core HR domains, including talent acquisition, HR operations, employee engagement, policy development, performance management, compliance, and organizational development.

This role requires someone who can independently manage end-to-end HR processes while partnering with leadership to develop people strategies that foster an inclusive, high-performing, and mission-driven workplace. The successful candidate will contribute to building scalable HR systems and processes that support Swaniti's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

- Lead end-to-end recruitment for technical, programmatic, and corporate roles.

- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and develop hiring plans.

- Drive sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding.

- Build talent pipelines through multiple recruitment channels.





- Monitor recruitment metrics and continuously improve hiring processes.

2. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management

- Manage the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit.

- Maintain employee records, HRIS, and personnel documentation.

- Coordinate payroll inputs, attendance, leave management, insurance, and employee perks.

- Ensure timely issuance of employment letters, contracts, confirmations, promotions, and exit documents.

- Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee records.

3. HR Policies, Compliance & Governance

- Draft, review, implement, and update HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook.

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.

- Support HR audits and maintain compliance documentation.

- Interpret HR policies and advise employees and managers on policy implementation.

- Recommend process improvements aligned with organizational growth.

4. Performance Management & Learning

- Coordinate the organization's performance management cycle.

- Support goal setting, appraisals, promotions, and performance improvement plans.

- Identify learning needs and coordinate employee development programmes.

- Maintain training records and evaluate learning outcomes.

- Support career development and succession planning initiatives.

5. Employee Engagement & Employee Relations

- Design and execute employee engagement initiatives and wellness programmes.

- Drive employee recognition and culture-building initiatives.

- Conduct employee feedback surveys and recommend action plans.

- Handle employee relations matters and support grievance resolution.

- Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment.

6. Compensation, Benefits & HR Analytics

- Support salary benchmarking, compensation reviews, and annual increment cycles.

- Coordinate employee benefits administration and insurance programmes.

- Develop HR dashboards and reports on recruitment, attrition, diversity,



engagement, and performance.

- Analyse HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

7. Strategic HR & Organizational Development

- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational design.

- Lead HR process improvement and automation initiatives.

- Support change management and organizational development projects.

- Contribute to HR strategy and annual people planning.

- Manage cross-functional HR initiatives and special projects.

8. Stakeholder Management

- Build strong partnerships with employees, managers, and leadership.

- Collaborate with Finance, Administration, and Programme teams on HR initiatives.

- Coordinate with external recruitment partners, consultants, and service providers where required.

9. Other Responsibilities

- Stay updated on employment legislation and HR best practices.

- Support organizational initiatives aligned with Swaniti's mission.

- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of People or Leadership Team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Education

- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.

- MBA (HR) or equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a generalist role.

- Experience in the development sector, consulting, social enterprises, or start-up environments will be an advantage.

- Experience managing recruitment, HR operations, policy implementation, employee engagement, and compliance independently.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong understanding of HR principles, labour laws, and statutory compliance.

- Proven experience in developing HR policies, SOPs, and people processes.

- Experience with HRMS platforms (Zoho People/Recruit, Keka, or similar).

- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

- Strong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
