About the Role

CTS Group is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer (HV/MV) to join our growing team at our Chennai Production Campus.

In this role, you will lead the High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical scope for our modular data center manufacturing facility, taking ownership of the design, specification, integration, and testing of power distribution systems. You will work closely with engineering, production, quality, commissioning, and vendor teams to deliver protected, reliable, and high-quality modular data center solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and specification of HV/MV power distribution systems for modular data center units and campus infrastructure.
- Design and review electrical systems including:
- HV/MV Switchgear
- Transformers




- Ring Main Units (RMUs)
- Protection & Control Systems
- Earthing Systems
- Power Cabling
- Prepare and review:
- Load Flow Studies
- Short Circuit Studies
- Protection Coordination Studies
- Cable Sizing Calculations
- Earthing Calculations
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Electrical Layout Drawings
- Define technical specifications for HV/MV equipment and review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Controls, Structural, Production, and Quality teams to ensure buildable and efficient electrical designs.
- Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for switchgear and electrical equipment.
- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, NFPA, and client-specific technical standards.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, revisions, and as-built drawings.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers.
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical issues during production and testing, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with utilities, consultants, vendors, and clients for technical discussions and approvals.
- Drive standardisation, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives across modular electrical designs.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications





- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on HV/MV Power Systems.
- Experience in a managerial, lead, or team leadership role is preferred.
- Experience within Data Centers, Industrial Manufacturing, EPC, or Modular Construction environments is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

- Strong expertise in:
- HV/MV Distribution Systems
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- Protection & Control
- Earthing Systems
- Power Cabling
- Hands-on experience performing:
- Load Flow Analysis
- Short Circuit Analysis
- Protection Coordination Studies
- Experience using ETAP or equivalent power system analysis software.
- Knowledge of:
- IEC Standards
- IS Standards
- NFPA Standards
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning support.
- Vendor and contractor management experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with Revit is considered an advantage.
