About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Visual Merchandising professional with a solid background in

fashion and lifestyle retail to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will bring industry expertise in creating compelling retail experiences, visual storytelling, customer engagement, and

brand communication. The candidate should be passionate about mentoring future retail designers while bridging industry practices with academic learning.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Teaching & Learning

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Retail,

Brand Experience, and Customer Experience Design.

• Conduct studio sessions, workshops, and seminars on retail display, spatial branding, and

retail communication.

• Mentor students in live industry projects, internships, portfolios, and graduation projects.

2) Curriculum Development

• Develop and update courses aligned with evolving retail and fashion industry trends.

• Introduce experiential learning methods, case studies, and interdisciplinary projects.

3) Industry Collaboration

• Build partnerships with fashion brands, retailers, VM agencies, and lifestyle organizations.

• Organize industry visits, guest lectures, workshops, and collaborative projects.

• Facilitate internships and placement opportunities.

Research & Innovation

• Conduct research in visual merchandising, consumer behaviour, retail branding, and

customer experience.

• Publish papers, case studies, and industry reports.

5) Academic Administration

• Participate in curriculum planning, admissions, student assessments, and departmental

activities.

• Contribute to NAAC/IQAC documentation, accreditation processes, quality assurance, and

institutional development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Visual Merchandising, Retail

Design, Lifestyle Accessory Design, Interior Design, or related disciplines.

• Candidates from premier institutions such as National Institute of Fashion Technology

(NIFT), NID, or other reputed design schools are encouraged to apply.

• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant industry and/or academic experience.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating retail displays, store environments, and brand experience

projects.
