Summary:

As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. The role requires working with contemporary development frameworks and following agile methodologies to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient software that meets unique business requirements. Collaboration with different teams and continuous refinement of software elements are integral parts of the daily workflow, fostering innovation and responsiveness to evolving project needs.

Mandatory Requirements

Proven experience supporting Genetec Security Center, including Omnicast (VMS) and Synergis (Access Control).

Hands-on experience with Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems, including configuration and commissioning for new site deployments.

Experience managing site rollout and implementation activities.

Solid background in enterprise security hardware, including CCTV cameras,



card readers, electronic locks, and storage systems.

Additional Requirements

Strong development expertise in .NET, Azure, and cloud-native solutions.

Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, identity integration, and platform modernisation.

Proficiency in REST APIs, Kendo UI, GitHub, and infrastructure components such as load balancers.

Solid understanding of SSO, secure application integration, TCP/IP networking, Windows Server, and SQL databases.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support Genetec Omnicast and Synergis platforms.

Perform system health checks, firmware upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.

Integrate physical security platforms with enterprise IT infrastructure, including VLANs, firewalls, Active Directory, and identity services.

Coordinate hardware deployments and provide L3 technical support for complex issues.

Act as the primary escalation point for critical technical incidents and stakeholder discussions.

Develop automation tools and utilities to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.

Drive platform modernisation initiatives with a strong focus on maintainability, scalability, and engineering standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Genetec Security Center certifications (Omnicast, Synergis) preferred.

Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and technical leadership capabilities.
