About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced CPU Software Architect to join Qualcomm's dynamic Engineering Group. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing software that enhances CPU performance, energy efficiency, and scalability across various product segments. Your expertise will directly contribute to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in next-generation computing solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware architects, compiler developers, kernel engineers, and external partners, to deliver high-performance software tailored for cutting-edge hardware architectures.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CPU architecture, software stacks, and system internals. You will leverage your knowledge to run benchmarks, analyze workloads, identify optimization opportunities, and implement innovative solutions. Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience in software engineering or a related domain. A Master's degree or PhD in the same fields is preferred, with corresponding experience requirements. Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, Java, or similar languages are essential. Experience with Linux internals, device drivers, computer architecture, and operating system concepts is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to think holistically, and a passion for innovation in high-performance computing environments.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize high-performance, energy-efficient software tailored for CPU architectures, leveraging deep knowledge of CPU design and system internals. Run comprehensive benchmarks to evaluate application performance and power consumption, ensuring compliance with silicon and product specifications. Conduct critical pre- and post-silicon verification activities to validate software performance and identify areas for improvement. Create and refine benchmarks for emerging workloads and product segments, supporting Qualcomm's innovation pipeline.

Analyze complex software workloads, including libraries, compilers, assembly code, runtime environments, and algorithms, to identify optimization opportunities.



Collaborate closely with internal teams such as CPU, compiler, and kernel engineers, as well as external partners including benchmark vendors and open-source communities, to implement solutions that meet performance targets. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance software performance and scalability. Document technical findings, develop best practices, and contribute to the overall knowledge base to support ongoing innovation.
