METROPEOPLE Tamil Daily Newspaper is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Newspaper Layout Designer to join our editorial and production team. The candidate will be responsible for designing visually appealing, well-structured, and print-ready newspaper pages while coordinating closely with the editorial, advertising, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and layout daily newspaper pages according to editorial requirements and deadlines.
- Arrange news articles, headlines, photographs, graphics, advertisements, and other content effectively.
- Create visually attractive front pages, special pages, supplements, and feature sections.
- Ensure proper Tamil and English typography, font usage, spacing, alignment, and readability.
- Work closely with editors and reporters to ensure accurate placement of editorial content.
- Coordinate with the advertising team for proper placement and sizing of advertisements.
- Edit, resize, crop, and enhance photographs and other visual elements as required.
- Prepare final print-ready files according to newspaper printing specifications.
- Review page proofs and correct layout, alignment, font, image, and formatting issues before publication.
- Maintain consistency with the newspaper's established design guidelines and visual identity.




- Handle multiple pages simultaneously and complete layouts within strict daily publication deadlines.
- Support the design of promotional materials and digital creatives when required.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CorelDRAW is preferred.
- Experience in Tamil newspaper page layout and Tamil typography is highly preferred.
- Positive understanding of newspaper design principles and print production.
- Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability.
- Basic understanding of Tamil and English content.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with editorial and production teams.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, Printing Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in newspaper, magazine, publishing, or print media layout design is preferred.
- Freshers with strong newspaper layout design skills and a good portfolio may also apply.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with previous experience in Tamil daily newspapers or regional print media will be given preference.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
