Position: Counselor

Job Summary

The Counselor will be responsible for guiding, inspiring, and supporting candidates throughout the training and placement process. The role involves conducting counseling sessions, mobilizing prospective candidates, addressing trainee concerns, improving retention, and ensuring successful completion of training and placement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct pre-admission counseling for prospective candidates and their parents/guardians.
- Explain course details, eligibility criteria, career opportunities, and placement prospects.
- Guide trainees in selecting suitable courses based on their interests, aptitude, and career goals.
- Monitor trainee attendance, performance, and overall progress.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, personal, and career-related concerns.
- Motivate trainees to complete training and participate actively in placement opportunities.
- Coordinate with trainers, mobilizers, and center management to support trainee development.
- Maintain counseling records, trainee profiles, and required documentation.
- Support mobilization activities, awareness campaigns, and community outreach programs.
- Assist in placement preparation activities including soft skills, interview readiness, and career guidance.




- Follow up with trainees after placement and maintain placement-related records.

Required Qualification

- Graduate in Psychology, Social Work, Human Resources, Education, Sociology, or any relevant discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work will be preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in counseling, student guidance, education, skill development, or related fields.
- Experience in government skill development projects will be an added advantage.

- Strong counseling and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to motivate and guide youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, Email, MIS reporting).
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Salary

As per organizational norms and candidate experience.
