Position: SCADA Engineer

Department: Electrical / Automation / SCADA

Experience: 3–8 Years (SCADA & Substation Automation)

Education: B.E./B. Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related discipline

Work Location: As per Project Requirement

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled SCADA Engineer with hands-on experience in Substation Automation Systems (SAS), RTU, IED integration, SCADA commissioning, and communication protocols. The candidate should have strong experience in testing, configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of SCADA systems for 33kV, 132kV, and 220kV substations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys, engineering activities, and provide customer technical support.

Perform testing and maintenance of transformers for 33kV, 132kV, and 220kV substations.

Test and integrate circuit breakers with RTU systems.

Prepare, review, and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for EHV substations.

Configure and prepare RTU databases for Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, GE, and Hitachi RTUs.

Configure and integrate Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) with RTUs.

Integrate RTUs with SCADA Control Centers and LDMS.

Perform database creation, editing, mapping, and networking with remote stations.

Configure communication protocols including IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-104.

Prepare cable schedules, termination schedules, and I/O lists.

Carry out erection, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of LT & HT electrical panels.

Verify project materials and prepare inspection and verification reports.

Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SCADA, RTU, IEDs, and communication systems.

Coordinate with clients, OEMs,



and project teams during installation and commissioning.

Prepare commissioning reports, as-built documentation, and technical reports.

Required Technical Skills

IED retrofitting, configuration, and integration with RTU.

RTU configuration and integration with SCADA Control Center.

RTU integration with LDMS and SCADA systems.

Strong knowledge of IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-104 communication protocols.

Troubleshooting of IEDs, RTUs, communication networks, and LDMS.

SCADA database creation, editing, and point mapping.

Experience with Substation Automation Systems (SAS).

Knowledge of Ethernet networking, serial communication, fiber optic communication, and industrial networking.

Understanding of protection relays, bay controllers, and electrical switchyard equipment.

Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.

Preferred OEM Experience

IED Makes: Siemens, ABB, Alstom

RTU Makes: Siemens, Hitachi, ABB, Schneider Electric, GE

Preferred Experience

SCADA implementation for transmission and distribution substations.

Testing and commissioning of RTU, IED, SAS, and SCADA systems.

Experience in electrical substations (33kV, 132kV, and 220kV).

Knowledge of utility standards and electrical safety practices.

Willingness to travel to project sites across India.
