Job Description: Maintenance Head - STP / ETP

Industry: Environmental / Water & Wastewater Treatment

Role SummaryThe Maintenance Head will lead all O&M; activities for Sewage Treatment Plants and Effluent Treatment Plants. You’ll ensure 100% plant uptime, regulatory compliance, cost control, and team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to Plant Head / Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Maintenance & Reliability

· Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for STP/ETP equipment: pumps, blowers, gearboxes, diffusers, clarifiers, centrifuges, RO, PLC, MCC panels

· Ensure zero unplanned downtime. Reduce MTTR and increase MTBF

· Maintain equipment history, spare parts inventory, and AMC contracts

2. Team Leadership

· Manage team of service engineers, technicians, electricians, and helpers

· Create shift rosters, training plans, and safety toolbox talksConduct

· performance reviews and skill development for the O&M; team

3. Process & Compliance

· Coordinate with Process team to align maintenance with treatment requirements: BOD, COD, TSS, pH targets

· Ensure compliance with CPCB, SPCB, and client EHS norms

· Maintain logbooks, service reports, calibration records for regulatory audits

4. Budget & Vendor Management

· Prepare annual maintenance budget and control costs

· Manage vendors for breakdown support,



spare procurement, and specialized jobs

· Negotiate AMCs for electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical services

5. Safety & Improvement

· Implement LOTO, PPE, and safety protocols at site

· Lead root cause analysis for breakdowns and implement corrective actions

· Drive energy saving and water saving initiatives in the plant

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering. Diploma with 10+ yrs exp also considered

Experience: 7-10 years total experience with minimum 3-4 years as Maintenance In-charge/Lead in STP/ETP/WTP plant

Must have handled 1 MLD to 50 MLD plants in industrial, pharma, textile, or municipal sectors

Required Skills

· Robust knowledge of activated sludge process, SBR, MBBR, UF/RO, sludge handling equipment

· Proficient in PLC, SCADA, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical overhauling

· Familiar with ISO 14001, 45001 and pollution control board norms

· Good command over CMMS, SAP PM, MS Excel for reporting

· Leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills

· Willingness for 24x7 availability and site travel

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
