We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on software testing experience. The ideal candidate has a robust grasp of testing methodologies, excels at designing and executing test scenarios, and is comfortable validating data at the database level. Experience with test automation is a strong plus.
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and specifications to design comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, and UAT testing across web and/or application platforms.
- Execute database validation — writing and running SQL queries to verify data integrity, backend logic, and end-to-end data flow.
- Identify, log, and track defects using a defect-tracking tool (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA); collaborate with developers to drive issues to closure.
- Reproduce, isolate, and clearly document bugs with steps, evidence, and severity/priority
- Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Contribute to and maintain test documentation, traceability, and coverage reports.
- Support release cycles by validating fixes and performing regression on impacted areas.
Required Candidate Profile
- 2–3 years of experience in manual/functional software testing.
- Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, and QA methodologies (test design techniques, defect life cycle).
- Proven ability to design effective test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases.
- Solid database/SQL knowledge — joins, subqueries, and data verification (SQL Server / Oracle / MySQL / PostgreSQL).
- Experience with test management and bug-tracking tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, TestRail, or similar).
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; strong attention to detail.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Added Advantage (Good to Have)
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools — Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
- Familiarity with a scripting/programming language (Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript) for automation.
- Exposure to API testing (Postman, REST Assured, or similar).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
- Basic knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
