Job Title: Lead Automation Test Engineer – Playwright (TypeScript)

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright (TypeScript), API Automation, and SQL, along with hands-on experience in Azure DevOps. The ideal candidate must have solid leadership experience, capable of driving automation strategy, mentoring teams, and ensuring high-quality deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and drive the test automation strategy using Playwright with TypeScript.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust UI automation frameworks.
- Build and execute API automation tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, Product Owners, DevOps) to ensure quality at every stage.
- Analyze requirements and define test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
- Ensure best practices in test automation, code quality, and reporting.
- Monitor test execution, debug failures, and provide root cause analysis.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Mandatory Skills





- Strong hands-on experience in Playwright with TypeScript
- Expertise in UI test automation frameworks
- Experience in API automation (RESTful services)
- Good knowledge of SQL / Database testing
- Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, test management)
- Solid understanding of automation design patterns and best practices
- Leadership experience (must-have) – handling teams, mentoring, and delivery ownership

Good to Have

- Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
- Knowledge of performance testing basics
- Exposure to cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Experience in version control tools like Git
