MISSION

Ensure the optimum use of the standardized solutions in all the development processes of the product for all the business unit clients.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

- Ensure, together with the Product Engineering Master, the technical feasibility of the product during the offer and development stages in accordance with Ficosa Development System (FDS) methodology.

- Carry out the design reviews under the supervision of the Master in Design and manage effectively the product modifications in all stages.

- Ensure the development and prototypes delivery regarding the defined plans with the client.

- Participate in the product and process FMEA’s.

- Together with the Quality Design Engineer, analyse the results of the product technical test reports and find the necessary technical countermeasures solutions.

- Propose Technical Lessons Learnt in industrialization phase working together with manufacturing teams.

- Support the competitiveness of the business unit improving costs, quality and product performance, adopting new technical solutions coming from competitors’ analysis and benchmark giving technical support to assembly plants (8D analysis, SOL activity, continuous improvement workshops…)

- Cooperate with Purchasing dept. and suppliers to ensure the optimization of the components in terms of cost, quality and manufacturability.

- Ensure the CAD (3D & 2D) design development.

- Deal with the client engineering for an effective products development.

- Participate in patent generation according to Engineering Master and Intellectual Property area guidelines and recommendations.

- Observe Ficosa’s Code of Ethics to avoid fraudulent practices.



Comply with Information Security Management System (ISMS) applicable to the job, along with the training related thereto.

- Lead the team, guaranteeing its effectiveness, development and motivation, fostering Ficosa's values.

- Provide the team with the necessary means to comply with OHSE rules, ensuring they are properly used.

- Actively cooperate in maintaining, promoting and improving the OHSE and Quality department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Academic background:
Bachelor’s degree, mainly in mechanical engineering

Languages:
Fluent English (spoken and written)

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in a similar position

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

Additional training:

Knowledge in R&D; Tools (FDS, Problem Solving, FMEA, GDT, DOE, etc) would be of additional value

Additional languages:
Other languages, according to the business / project, would be of additional value
