We are looking for a senior Legal & Company Secretary (CS) leader to own and drive the entire legal and corporate governance function. This role will be responsible for building a strong compliance framework, managing legal risks, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across multiple financial products. Reporting directly to the Cofounder and COO, you will play a strategic role in shaping governance practices and enabling business growth while maintaining strict compliance standards.
You will lead a lean internal team and coordinate with external partners or agencies to execute legal and compliance priorities effectively. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, especially in a fast-paced fintech environment with evolving regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the complete Legal and Company Secretarial (CS) function for the organization
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements
- Oversee legal matters related to business operations, contracts, and regulatory frameworks
- Drive compliance with RBI guidelines and other applicable financial regulations
- Manage board processes, filings, and documentation in line with corporate governance standards
- Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks across products and operations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including business, finance, and operations teams
- Manage external legal counsel and agencies to ensure efficient delivery of legal services
- Build, track, and deliver on key KPIs/KRAs for the legal and compliance function
- Provide strategic legal advice to leadership on business initiatives and regulatory changes
