Role Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager for the Smart TV platform who would ordinarily work with a team developing solutions for smart TV and connected devices. He or she will frequently collaborate with an enterprise architect for strategic guidance and must possess a well-balanced blend of technical and business skills to review requirements, evaluate and recommend options and implement solutions for project and operational scenarios with varying degrees of complexity for smart tv platforms including Samsung, LG, Sony Bravia, PlayStation and other web-based TV applications, the candidate will work with the technical team, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Technical:

- Strong understanding of Smart TV platform development, including architecture, APIs, and libraries

- Strong understanding of AI technologies and models for development practices for existing projects as well and new requirements. Valuable grasp on agentic development using industry standard tools.

- Experience working on system observability including technical and business KPI tracking using sentry, google analytics etc.

- Experience with app development for Samsung, LG, Sony Bravia TV (Tizen, Orsay, WebOS, Linux based Operating Systems)





- Experience with software design patterns, such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.

- Should have experience in Smart-TV JavaScript-Frameworks like TAL, React JS development with proven experience in developing scalable, reliable, and robust products.

- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform

- Understanding of software design principles and UX best practices

- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Smart TV applications.

- Valuable understanding of focus management on TV (building custom libraries for focus or any third-party libraries)

- Should be knowledgeable with video player integrations with shaka-player, video-js, hls-js, dash-js or similar web players.

- Understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CDNs is preferred.

- Basic understanding of Video transcoding engines [ffMpeG, AWS Media convert etc..]

- Should have knowledge of web technologies, APIs Gateways, Web Services for mobile apps and Payment gateways such as JusPay, razorpay , UPI, PayTM etc.

- Experience with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
