Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, and utility equipment (e.g., furnaces, rolling mills, cranes, conveyors, pumps, etc.).
Manage day-to-day breakdown maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Coordinate with the production team to plan maintenance activities with minimal impact on operations.
Team Management:
Lead a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Allocate daily jobs, monitor progress, and ensure safety compliance.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Equipment & Asset Management:
Maintain records of equipment history, downtime, and repair logs.
Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables.
Coordinate with vendors for outsourced maintenance and AMC services.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and statutory regulations.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures or major breakdowns.
Implement safety systems like LOTO, fire prevention, and machine guarding.
Cost & Energy Optimization:
Monitor maintenance budgets and control costs.
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce maintenance-related costs.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and lean maintenance initiatives.
Introduce recent technologies or automation for better plant performance.
