Job Summary

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) – Casualty is responsible for providing immediate medical assessment, stabilization, and treatment to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. The RMO ensures timely clinical interventions, coordinates with consultants and support departments, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers protected, ethical, and patient-centered care in accordance with hospital policies and NABH standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Emergency Patient Care

- Assess, triage, stabilize, and manage emergency patients promptly.
- Perform initial diagnosis and initiate appropriate treatment.
- Attend to trauma, medical, surgical, pediatric, and other emergency cases.
- Perform emergency procedures such as IV cannulation, suturing, catheterization, CPR, intubation assistance, wound management, and basic life support as required.
- Monitor critically ill patients until transferred to the appropriate unit.

2. Clinical Management

- Prescribe medications and investigations as per clinical protocols.
- Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialists.
- Ensure timely admission, transfer, or discharge of patients.
- Respond immediately to medical emergencies and Code Blue activations.

3. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain complete and accurate medical records,



emergency case sheets, consent forms, and treatment notes.
- Prepare medico-legal case (MLC) documentation and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Complete discharge summaries and referral documentation when applicable.
- Adhere to NABH standards, infection control practices, and hospital protocols.

4. Coordination & Communication

- Communicate effectively with patients and relatives regarding patient condition and treatment plans.
- Coordinate with Nursing, ICU, OT, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and other departments for seamless patient care.
- Ensure smooth handover during shift changes.

5. Quality & Patient Safety

- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Report adverse events, medication errors, and patient safety incidents.
- Participate in clinical audits, emergency drills, and quality improvement initiatives.

6. Administrative Responsibilities

- Ensure availability of emergency equipment, crash cart, and essential medications.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, and training programs.
- Perform additional duties assigned by hospital management.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
