Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly raw material procurement plans based on production

requirements and inventory levels.

• Coordinate and communicate procurement plans with both Head Offices to

ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials.

• Plan and coordinate logistics for inbound raw materials by obtaining dispatch

schedules from mines, suppliers, railway authorities, and transporters.

• Liaise with statutory authorities, including the Directorate of Mines and

Geology (DMG) and Forest Department, to obtain necessary permissions for

the procurement and transportation of bulk raw materials.

• Supervise loading operations at mines, railway sidings, and other loading

points to ensure timely dispatch and adherence to quality and quantity

requirements.

• Monitor railway rake movements and maintain comprehensive records of

Demurrage Charges (DC) and Wharfage Charges (WF) on a rake-wise basis.

• Analyse detention causes and implement effective action plans to minimize or

eliminate railway demurrage and wharfage charges.

• Coordinate with logistics service providers, transporters, suppliers, and plant





operations to ensure seamless movement of raw materials.

• Maintain accurate records of procurement, transportation, statutory approvals,

dispatches, and logistics performance.

• Ensure compliance with applicable mining, environmental, railway, and

statutory regulations related to raw material procurement and transportation.

• Prepare periodic MIS reports on procurement status, logistics performance,

railway detention, cost optimization, and inventory management for

management review.

• Identify prospects for process improvement and cost reduction in

procurement and logistics operations while ensuring uninterrupted raw

material supply.
