Purpose: To monitor, control, and optimize plant operations through the Distributed Control System (DCS).
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control all plant operations through the DCS interface.
Maintain key process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow etc.) within specified limits.
Respond to system alarms, troubleshoot abnormalities, and take corrective actions promptly.
Communicate instructions to Chemist/Operators for manual adjustments, sampling, and equipment checks.
Ensure real-time logging of process data, trends, and shift records.
Report deviations, near misses, or hazardous conditions. Support HAZOP, incident investigations, and safety audits.
Competencies:
Solid understanding of chemical production processes (batch/continuous).
Ability to read P&IDs;, PFDs, process flow sheets, and interlock logic.
Quick decision-making in process disturbances and emergency situations.
Knowledge of instrumentation and control basics.
High attention to detail and safety mindset.
Valuable communication and coordination skills.
Qualification: Diploma (Chemical)
Nature of Experience:
3 to 6 years experience in DCS-based Batch and Continuous plant operations. Should have worked in Agrochemicals / Specialty Chemicals / Fine Chemicals Manufacturing.
