Job Title: Payroll Executive / Payroll Officer
Department: Human Resources
Location: Manufacturing Unit/Gurugram
Job Summary
The Payroll Executive is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for employees in a manufacturing setup, ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, and timely salary disbursement. The role involves handling attendance, overtime, statutory deductions, and coordination with HR, Finance, and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
• Process monthly payroll for workers, staff, and contract employees
• Verify attendance, shifts, overtime, and leave records
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, incentives, and deductions
• Handle full & final settlements (F&F;)
Statutory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with labor laws applicable to manufacturing units:
o PF (Provident Fund)
o ESI (Employee State Insurance) )
o Bonus, Gratuity, and Minimum Wages Act
• Prepare and file statutory returns within deadlines
Attendance & Leave Management
• Coordinate with production/plant teams for attendance inputs
• Manage biometric or manual attendance systems
• Track absenteeism, late marks, and overtime
Data Management & Reporting
• Maintain payroll records and employee salary data
• Generate payroll reports, MIS, and cost analysis
• Support audits (internal/external/statutory)
Employee Queries
• Resolve payroll-related queries (salary, deductions, tax, etc.)
• Provide payslips and explain salary structure
Coordination
• Work closely with:
o HR team (employee data updates)
o Finance (salary disbursement, accounting)
o Production/Plant supervisors (attendance inputs)
Key Skills & Competencies
• Robust knowledge of payroll processes in manufacturing
• Familiarity with labor laws and statutory compliance
• Proficiency in Excel and payroll software (e.g., SAP, Tally, or HRMS tools)
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Valuable communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Commerce, or related field
• Certification in Payroll/HR (preferred)
Experience
• 3 to 10 years and above payroll experience (preferably in manufacturing/plant setup)
Preferred Experience
• Handling large workforce (including contract labor)
• Experience with shift-based and overtime-heavy environments
