B.E / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / MBA in Operations/Supply Chain preferred
Knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication, machining, hydraulics, sheet metal, steel structures.
Vendor negotiation, cost reduction, contract management, Incoterms
SAP/Oracle, MS Excel - Advanced, AutoCAD drawing reading is a plus
Identify, evaluate and develop recent vendors for mechanical items - steel, fabrication, hydraulics, motors, gearboxes, fasteners, bearings
Float RFQs, technical discussion with vendors, negotiate best price, quality and delivery terms
Issue Purchase Orders, follow up for timely delivery, coordinate with logistics and accounts
Prepare cost estimates, BOQ costing, rate analysis for recent projects and tenders
Coordinate with QC and Engineering team for material specs, drawings, and rejection handling
Work with Planning/Store team for material requirement planning, avoid stock-out and excess inventory
Ensure on-time procurement for project sites. Handle urgent/site material dispatch
Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, comparison sheets, and MIS reports
