Job Overview
The Dental Assistant will support the delivery of preventive and basic oral healthcare services through the Mobile Dental Van at community locations. The role involves assisting the dentist during clinical procedures, maintaining sterilization and infection control protocols, preparing and managing dental equipment, maintaining patient records, and supporting the smooth implementation of dental camps and outreach activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during dental consultations, examinations, and procedures conducted in the Mobile Dental Van.
- Ensure sterilization and proper handling of dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Prepare patients for consultations and ensure their comfort during dental procedures.
- Coordinate with schools, community representatives, and local stakeholders for the smooth implementation of dental camps.
- Manage patient registration, beneficiary flow, appointments, and referral coordination during camps.
- Maintain patient records, consultation logs, referral registers, and camp attendance records.
- Assist in the maintenance, cleaning,
and secure storage of dental equipment and supplies in the Mobile Dental Van.
- Support oral health awareness and education sessions for school children, teachers, parents, and community members.
- Travel extensively across Mumbai and Karjat as per the project schedule and undertake any other responsibilities assigned for the successful implementation of the project.
Profile Requisites:
- Diploma or Certificate in Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 1 year of experience assisting dentists in clinics, hospitals, or community outreach programmes.
- Experience in school health programmes or community-based oral health initiatives will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention and control practices.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining digital records and reports.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Mumbai and Karjat.
Remuneration:
Consultancy fees will range between INR 30000 per month, subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit.
