Position Summary(Manufacturing Background Needeed)

A Safety Officer for lithium-ion battery packs develops, enforces, and monitors safety protocols, HAZID/HAZOP studies, and regulatory compliance (OSHA/local laws) for battery handling, assembly, and testing to prevent thermal runaway and chemical hazards. They conduct daily site inspections, manage PPE, train personnel on high-voltage risks, and lead emergency responses.

Key Responsibilities

· Hazard Management: Perform Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, particularly focusing on fire risks, thermal runaway, and Class 9 dangerous goods handling.

· Perform Safety audits in all department of the factory

· Operational Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards for manufacturing, testing, storage, and transport of lithium-ion batteries.

· Inspections and Risk Assessment: Conduct regular inspections of manufacturing equipment, battery storage areas, and testing facilities to identify hazards.

· Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, near-miss events, and accidents involving battery failure to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

· Training and PPE:



Train employees on safety procedures, high-voltage equipment, and the proper use of protective equipment (PPE).

· Emergency Response: Develop emergency protocols for chemical spills or battery fires, including specialized fire suppression systems.

· Regulatory Liaison: Ensure compliance with local, state, and national environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations.

· Generate and implement safety SOP’s

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

· Experience: Proven experience in occupational health and safety (OHS) within manufacturing, preferably in electronics or battery manufacturing.

· Technical Knowledge: Understanding of lithium-ion battery construction, failure modes, high voltage/high current safety, and testing procedures.

· Certifications: NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certifications.

· Skills: Excellent communication, risk assessment abilities, and proficiency in EHS documentation.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
