About the Role

We are seeking a agile and results-driven Business Development Manager – Power Trading to drive growth in our power trading business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electricity markets, energy regulations, and commercial negotiations, with the ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships across the power sector.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop current business opportunities in power trading, renewable energy trading, and energy procurement.
Build and maintain relationships with power generators, DISCOMs, industrial consumers, open-access consumers, and other market participants.
Source and execute short-term, medium-term, and long-term power trading opportunities.
Analyze electricity market trends, demand-supply scenarios, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory developments.
Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).




Coordinate with trading, scheduling, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
Prepare business proposals, presentations, and bids for prospective clients.
Monitor opportunities in power exchanges and identify profitable trading strategies.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and company policies.
Achieve assigned revenue, volume, and profitability targets.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
MBA (Marketing, Finance, Energy Management) preferred.
3–8 years of experience in power trading, energy sales, business development, electricity markets, or related sectors.

Desired Skills
Solid understanding of power markets, open access, renewable energy, and electricity regulations.
Excellent business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
