Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain enterprise and ISP routers.
Monitor network performance and ensure high availability of routing infrastructure.
Troubleshoot routing issues related to connectivity, latency, packet loss, and bandwidth utilization.
Configure and manage routing protocols such as:
BGP
OSPF
EIGRP
RIP
Static Routing
Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, VRFs, MPLS, QoS, NAT, ACLs, and VPNs.
Perform router firmware/IOS upgrades and patch management.
Handle incidents, service requests, problem management, and change management following ITIL processes.
Work with ISPs and internal teams to resolve network outages.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
Create and maintain network documentation,



diagrams, and SOPs.
Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities.

Required Skills
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VPN technologies.
Hands-on experience with routing protocols:
BGP
OSPF
EIGRP
MPLS
Experience with router configuration and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or Zabbix.
Understanding of QoS, ACLs, and network security best practices.
Experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark.
Valuable understanding of ITIL processes.
