About the Role

Our consulting client is looking for experienced Mainframe Developers with strong hands-on development experience across JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2, and IMS. This role is focused on mainframe application development, enhancement, analysis, and delivery.

Please note: this chance is for Mainframe Development profiles only. Mainframe Support profiles should not be submitted.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining mainframe applications in an enterprise environment. The role involves working closely with technical teams, analyzing business and system requirements, coding and unit testing mainframe programs, supporting integration activities, and ensuring quality delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and IMS





• Analyze technical requirements and convert them into efficient mainframe solutions

• Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and documentation

• Work with mainframe tools such as Endevor, File Manager, and Debugger

• Support application changes, enhancements, and defect resolution

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery

• Follow coding standards, development processes, and quality guidelines

Required Skills / What You Bring

• 6+ years of experience in Mainframe Development

• Solid hands-on experience with JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2, and IMS

• Experience with CICS is preferred

• Working knowledge of Easytrieve

• Experience using Endevor for source code management

• Hands-on experience with File Manager and Debugger tools

• Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently in a development-focused role

• Prior experience in enterprise mainframe application development
