Position description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead and manage the SMS Mechanical Maintenance team specializing in Caster Hydraulics at Jindal Stainless Limited. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in hydraulic systems within the Steel industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of caster hydraulic equipment, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and managing a team to meet production and maintenance targets. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence in a energetic industrial environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee the maintenance operations of caster hydraulic systems to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules tailored to the specific needs of caster hydraulics.
- Manage and mentor the mechanical maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with production and engineering departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals and minimize downtime.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to mechanical maintenance and hydraulic systems.




- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, including resource allocation and procurement of necessary spare parts and tools.
- Drive initiatives for upgrading and modernizing hydraulic systems to enhance performance and reduce operational costs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks and technical support.

Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, circuits, pumps, valves, accumulators, cylinders, and servo/proportional systems.

- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Understanding of lubrication systems and contamination control.
- Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques and hydraulic oil analysis.
- Experience in commissioning and optimization of hydraulic equipment.
