Job Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and monitoring all inventory activities to ensure the availability, accuracy, and efficient movement of materials across the warehouse. The role oversees inventory of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and consumables while maintaining optimum stock levels and ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.

The Inventory Manager plays a key role in minimizing inventory losses, improving inventory accuracy, supporting production continuity, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective inventory management practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Planning & Control

- Plan and maintain optimum inventory levels based on production and demand forecasts.
- Monitor inventory turnover and stock ageing.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials for production and dispatch.
- Develop inventory replenishment plans and reorder strategies.

Inventory Accuracy

- Maintain inventory accuracy above 99%.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual stock audits.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper stock reconciliation between physical inventory and ERP.

Warehouse Operations

- Supervise receiving, storage, movement, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure proper material identification and location management.
- Maintain warehouse layout for maximum space utilization.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO, FEFO, and batch management practices.

ERP & Documentation

- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in ERP/WMS.
- Maintain GRN, Stock Transfer, Issue Notes, Delivery Challans, and inventory reports.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory MIS reports.

Team Leadership

- Lead warehouse inventory staff.
- Allocate daily work schedules.




- Conduct performance reviews and training programs.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.

Quality & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, or industry-specific standards.
- Monitor storage conditions and inventory preservation.
- Ensure workplace safety and housekeeping (5S).

Continuous Improvement

- Reduce inventory carrying costs.
- Minimize stock losses and damages.
- Improve inventory processes using Lean and Kaizen principles.
- Support automation and digital inventory initiatives.

Required QualificationsEducation

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain (Preferred).
- MBA in Supply Chain / Operations / Inventory Management (Preferred).

Experience

- 5–10 years in warehouse or inventory management.
- Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, E-commerce, Retail, Pharma, or 3PL Warehousing preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
