Job Title: Senior ELK Engineer
Purpose of the Role
The Senior ELK Engineer is responsible for end-to-end onboarding of application logs into the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) platform across AWS, Azure, and On-Prem settings. The role focuses on Elastic Agent–based ingestion, Fleet management, dashboards, alerts, and platform stability.
Experience & Qualification
8 to 10 years of hands-on experience with the ELK / Elastic Stack
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities
Onboard application logs into ELK from end to end (UAT & PROD)
Work with application teams to collect log sources, formats, and requirements
Configure Elastic Agent using Fleet (agent lifecycle management)
Install and troubleshoot Elastic Agents
Design and maintain Logstash pipelines and Grok patterns (automation wherever possible)
Validate log ingestion, mappings, and pipelines
Create and maintain Kibana dashboards and alerts
Configure and manage ILM policies
Support Cross-Cluster Search (CCS) and multi-cluster setups
Manage on prem ELK Disaster Recovery (DR) setups, including failover and recovery validation
Knowledge of ServiceNow Change Management processes and enterprise IT change controls.
Troubleshoot ingestion, performance, and mapping issues
Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and onboarding documentation
Technical Skills
Solid hands-on experience with:
o Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
o Elastic Agent & Fleet
Good understanding of:
o ELK architecture and infrastructure components
o Kibana management
o Linux commands
o Basic networking
Cloud experience (AWS / Azure) – positive to have
Kubernetes
