Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat patients with benign and malignant blood disorders.
Manage conditions such as anemia, thalassemia, hemophilia, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and clotting disorders.
Interpret and evaluate laboratory investigations including CBC, peripheral smear, coagulation profile, bone marrow aspiration, and biopsy reports.
Plan and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive treatment for hematological malignancies.
Perform and supervise bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.
Coordinate patient care with Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, and other specialists.
Manage blood transfusions, blood component therapy, and transfusion-related complications.
Monitor treatment response, disease progression, and long-term follow-up of patients.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital protocols.
Provide patient and family counseling regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and prognosis.
Participate in clinical meetings, CMEs, quality improvement initiatives, and academic activities.
Desired Skills
Robust clinical knowledge of hematological disorders.
Expertise in bone marrow procedures and interpretation of hematology investigations.
Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
