Bending / Press Brake Operator

Job Summary

Responsible for setting up and operating CNC/manual press brake or bending machines to bend and form sheet metal components as per drawing and production requirements, while ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate press brake / bending machines to bend and shape sheet metal plates and sheets as per job card and drawings.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand bend dimensions, angles, and sequence.
- Select and install appropriate tools, punches, and dies based on material thickness and required bend radius.
- Adjust machine parameters such as stroke, back gauge, pressure, and speed for accurate bending.
- Position and align material properly, perform trial bends, and make necessary corrections before bulk production.
- Inspect parts using vernier caliper, height gauge, protractor, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensions and tolerances.
- Monitor production, check pieces during running, and maintain required quality and quantity targets.
- Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance,



and lubrication of machines; report any abnormalities to maintenance/shift in‑charge.
- Follow all safety procedures, use PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
- Maintain basic production records such as job sheet, rejection, and rework details as required by the company.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Experience in operating CNC/manual press brake or bending machines in sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of tool selection, bend allowance, and basic shop mathematics (mm, degrees, thickness).
- Awareness of safety practices and housekeeping in fabrication shop.
- Minimum ITI / Diploma / 10th–12th pass in relevant trade preferred.​

Experience

- Fresher or 1–2 years for Junior Bending Operator.
- 3+ years for Senior / Lead Bending Operator with ability to independently set machine and guide helpers.

Job Types: Full time, Part-time

Pay: ₹8,961.38 - ₹30,026.63 per month

Expected hours: 5.0 per week
