An SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Consultant manages the Order-to-Cash (O2C) process. They gather business requirements, configure system modules, and support day-to-day operations for order management, pricing, shipping, and billing. They bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering: Translate complex business objectives into explicit SAP functional specifications and process designs.
System Configuration: Configure and customize SAP SD modules, specifically for sales order management, pricing procedures, shipping, and billing.
Integration & Testing: Partner with other module leads (like MM, FI, and PP) to test the system through Unit, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
User Support: Troubleshoot daily system issues, resolve break-fixes,
and provide end-user training and documentation.
Skill Requirements
Experience: Typically requires 3 to 8+ years of hands-on functional configuration and implementation experience.
Core Knowledge: Deep understanding of the entire Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle.
Integration: Familiarity with cross-module integrations (EDI, IDOCs, APIs, and Master Data).System Upgrades: Familiarity with contemporary platforms like SAP S/4HANA SD.
