Job Description: Cardiology Coordinator (Cardiac OPD)

Department: Cardiac Outpatient Department (OPD)

Reports To: Lead Medical Services

Key Responsibilities
Patient Navigation & Coordination

Streamline Patient Flow: Coordinate daily OPD clinic schedules to minimize patient wait times and optimize the cardiologists' time.

Diagnostic Scheduling: Seamlessly schedule and track outpatient cardiac tests (e.g., Echocardiograms, Holter monitors, Stress Tests, TMT) to align with physician consultations.

Post-Consultation Guidance: Guide patients through their treatment plans, explaining next steps, lifestyle counseling resources, and scheduling follow-up visits.
Clinical Liaison & Communication

Point of Contact: Act as the primary liaison between patients, family members, cardiologists, and referring physicians.

Result Tracking: Monitor and retrieve incoming diagnostic test results, ensuring they are promptly uploaded to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and flagged for physician review.

Prescription & Referral Management:



Coordinate prescription refills and external referrals under the direct guidance of the clinical team.
Administrative & Insurance Support

Pre-Authorizations: Work alongside the billing team to facilitate prior authorizations for specialized cardiac procedures or advanced imaging (e.g., Cardiac MRI/CT).

Documentation: Maintain meticulously updated patient charts, intake forms, and consent documents in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Inquiry Resolution: Handle phone calls and emails regarding patient concerns, triaging clinical questions to the appropriate nursing or medical staff.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience Note: A background in a rapid-paced clinical setting (especially cardiology) is highly preferred, but outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills are the true keys to success in this role.
