- Prepare the operation theatre with sterile instruments, equipment, consumables, and surgical supplies before each procedure.
- Perform surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving, and maintain strict aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.
- Verify patient identity, informed consent, surgical site, and procedure, and participate in the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist (Sign In, Time Out, and Sign Out).
- Arrange and pass surgical instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team efficiently while anticipating procedural requirements.
- Perform and document accurate counts of instruments, needles, sponges, and swabs with the circulating nurse before, during, and after surgery to prevent retained surgical items.
- Handle, label, and transfer surgical specimens safely and accurately as per hospital policy.
- Ensure proper handling of sterile instruments after surgery and send them to the CSSD for decontamination and sterilization.
- Maintain complete and accurate OT documentation, including instrument counts, implants, specimens, and nursing records.
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices,



hand hygiene, biomedical waste management, and report any breach in sterility, equipment malfunction, or patient safety incident immediately.
- Comply with NABH standards, hospital policies, quality improvement initiatives, mandatory training, and maintain skilled conduct, confidentiality, and effective teamwork within the Operation Theatre.

Qualification & Experience

- B.Sc. Nursing or General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience as a Scrub Nurse in a multispecialty Operation Theatre.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is desirable.
- Good communication, teamwork, and documentation skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary surgical team.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
