Position Summary

Elegant Interiors is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Material & Finishes Designer responsible for researching, selecting, coordinating, documenting, and managing all materials, finishes, fabrics, hardware, lighting, and decorative elements used across residential and commercial interior projects.

The ideal candidate should possess robust knowledge of interior materials, color coordination, vendor sourcing, cost awareness, and design aesthetics while ensuring that all selections align with project budgets, timelines, and client expectations.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial & Finish Selection

- Select and recommend materials, finishes, colors, textures, and furnishings for interior projects.
- Prepare material palettes, mood boards, and finish combinations.
- Assist designers and clients in selecting suitable materials based on design intent and budget.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends, products, materials, and technologies.

Client Material Selection Meetings

- Conduct material selection meetings with clients.
- Present samples, finish options, and material combinations.
- Explain product specifications, durability, maintenance, and cost implications.
- Obtain client approvals and maintain approval records.

Material Documentation

- Prepare detailed Material Specification Sheets.
- Create Finish Schedules for all projects.




- Maintain approved sample records.
- Prepare material BOQs and quantity requirements.
- Update project-wise material selection trackers.

Vendor & Supplier Management

- Develop and maintain a vendor database.
- Source new materials, finishes, and innovative products.
- Coordinate with suppliers for samples, quotations, and technical specifications.
- Compare products based on quality, cost, availability, and suitability.
- Build relationships with manufacturers and vendors.

Coordination with Design, Procurement & Execution Teams

- Coordinate with Interior Designers, Architects, Project Managers, Procurement Team, and Factory Team.
- Ensure approved materials are procured and delivered on time.
- Verify that execution teams use approved materials and finishes.
- Resolve material-related site issues and substitutions.

Material Library Management

- Maintain and organize the Material Experience Centre and sample library.
- Ensure proper labeling and cataloguing of material samples.
- Periodically update the material database with new products and discontinued items.
- Maintain digital records of all approved materials on Google Drive.

Quality Control

- Inspect material samples and verify quality standards.




- Ensure delivered materials match approved specifications.
- Conduct periodic site visits to verify material usage and finish quality.
- Report discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Required QualificationsEducation

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Furniture Design, Product Design, or related field.

Experience

- 3-6 years of experience in Interior Design, Material Selection, FF&E; Design, or related roles.
- Experience in residential and commercial interior projects preferred.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
