Job Title: Data Warehouse Engineer – SAP BW

Experience: 5+ years

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)

Shift: 2 PM to 11 PM

Job Summary

The Data Warehouse Engineer will provide technical expertise in designing, developing,

and supporting data warehouse solutions using SAP BW NetWeaver. This role will

focus on SAP BW integration with internal and external systems, report troubleshooting,

and enhancements. It includes close collaboration with global business users, functional

teams, and developers. Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is preferred. The

engineer will also be responsible for ensuring data integrity, performance, and

availability through end-to-end data flow management, reporting design, and proactive

data loads and system monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

 Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW data models, including InfoProviders,

CompositeProviders, and MultiProviders

 Modify and optimize BEx queries in collaboration with business users to resolve

reporting discrepancies

 Perform root-cause analysis on data inconsistencies and support issue resolution

 Develop and maintain transformation routines, DTPs, and update rules using

ABAP where required

 Manage and monitor data load activities including process chains and data

archiving/cleanup

 Leverage Advanced Process Designer (APD) for custom data flow and extraction

logic

 Integrate SAP BW with internal/external systems and support OData service

development for real-time data consumption

 Implement data management best practices for archiving, housekeeping, and

performance optimization

 Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and

analyze reporting and analytics requirements

 Assist in solution testing, documentation, and production deployment to ensure

minimal disruption

 Utilize SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud) for visualization and self-service analytics

where applicable





 Apply generative AI-assisted data analysis and logical programming techniques

to streamline development with minimal developer support

 Proactively monitor system performance and troubleshoot batch jobs, short

dumps, and interface issues

 Document solutions thoroughly and participate in user training and knowledge

sharing

 Support special projects and report progress, timelines, and risks proactively

Area of Focus

 SAP BW on NetWeaver architecture and data modeling

 BEx Query Designer – modification and optimization

 SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) – integration and report development (preferred)

 Data load management and monitoring (Process Chains, APDs)

 Data transformation and ABAP-based routines and BADIs in ECC and BW

 OData services development and integration

 Data archiving and system cleanup procedures

 Integration with ECC and other SAP/non-SAP systems

 Data correction and reloads from acquisition layer upto multi providers

Qualifications

Education

 Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information

Systems, or related field

 Preferred: Master’s Degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification

Experience

 Minimum 2 full lifecycle SAP BW implementation projects

 At least 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP BW NetWeaver architecture and

data modeling

 Strong understanding of data flow across SAP systems and integration methods

 Experience working with business users for troubleshooting and solution design

 Expertise in BEx Query modification, APDs, and process chain configuration

 Hands-on experience with OData service implementation and performance

tuning

 Knowledge of data archiving, cleanup processes, and BW performance

optimization

 Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and its integration with BW (preferred)

 Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in global teams

 Robust problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills
