A Technical Architect in esyasoft plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex technology systems that support critical infrastructure like electricity grids, water supply systems, oil and gas pipelines, and renewable energy sources. This role combines deep industry knowledge with robust technical expertise.
Key Responsibility:
- Design scalable, secure, and resilient IT/OT (Information Technology / Operational Technology) systems.
- Create blueprints for platforms such as SCADA, AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), GIS, and IoT.
- Integrate legacy systems with modern platforms using APIs and middleware.
- Define technical roadmaps in alignment with digital transformation goals (e.g., smart grid, smart metering, de-carbonization).
- Evaluate emerging technologies like AI/ML, edge computing, or blockchain for energy use cases.
- Work closely with business units, project managers, enterprise architects, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as NERC CIP, ISO 27001, IEC 61850, and data privacy regulations.
- Define and enforce architecture standards and documentation practices.
- Enable interoperability across systems like ERP, CRM, GIS, OMS (Outage Management Systems), and EMS (Energy Management Systems).
- Design for real-time data flows and analytics for demand forecasting or asset performance management.
- Implement cybersecurity controls, especially for critical infrastructure and OT environments.
- Secure communication between IT and OT networks.
Requirements
- Cloud: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud (especially for smart metering or analytics)
- SCADA/DCS: ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric platforms
- Data & Analytics: Hadoop, Spark, Power BI, Azure Synapse, SAS
- IoT & Edge: Azure IoT Hub, AWS Greengrass, industrial gateways
- Integration: MuleSoft, Apache Kafka, Dell Boomi, REST/SOAP APIs
Qualification's:
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- 15+ years of experience in IT/OT architecture
- Certifications: TOGAF, Azure/AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP (for security)
- Industry experience in power distribution, T&D;, utilities, or oil & gas
- Strong understanding of regulatory and environmental factors affecting the energy sector
