Job Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor & Billing Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of the
contractual and financial side of construction projects. The role includes preparing BOQs,
cost estimates, tender documents, measurement and verification of work done, and preparing
contractor/client bills in alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Quantity Surveying:
Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings and specifications.
Conduct site measurements and prepare quantity take-offs.
Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations for cost-effectiveness.
Analyze project costs and prepare cost reports for management.
Billing Engineering:
Prepare and verify interim and final bills for subcontractors and clients.
Coordinate with site execution teams to verify work progress.
Maintain billing records and ensure timely submission and certification.
Assist in resolving billing-related queries with clients or subcontractors.
Contract Management:
Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, including variations and claims.
Ensure adherence to contractual terms and conditions.
Support the project team in commercial negotiations and change orders.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
Monitor project costs and track deviations from budgets.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest corrective actions.
Provide cost forecasts and cash flow projections.
Coordination & Reporting:
Collaborate with project engineers, and contractors.
Maintain documentation related to QS & billing functions.
Prepare MIS reports and submit to project management regularly.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
3 TO 8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and billing in construction.
Robust knowledge of construction methods, drawings, and materials.
Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and ERP.
Good analytical and communication skills.
Knowledge of local contracting laws and tax norms (GST, TDS, etc.) is a plus.
